September 13, 2017 marked the return of the Original. Bringing back analog photography for the modern age, Polaroid Originals celebrated the brands 80 year history with a photographic retrospective to introduce their new camera: the One Step 2. The brand asked Exposure to support the Polaroid Originals launch and introduce the brand as a relevant property in contemporary culture.
We sparked an authentic partnership with legendary photographer Ryan McGinley to curate a gallery exhibition of five promising photographers he identified as the future generation of analog advocates. Paying homage to the neighborhood that inspired Ryan’s “The Kids Are All Right,” we opened a pop-up gallery in the Lower East Side to exhibit these photographers modern take on instant photography using the new One Step 2 camera and film.
The Next Generation
Inspired by the support and recognition from Ryan, our carefully selected partners Hunter Abrams, Myles Loftin, Rochelle Brockington, Marcus Branch and Sabrina Santiago continue to embrace their role as the future generation of Polaroid photographers.
